Which islands and bays does a Phuket yacht itinerary usually cover?
Guests most often choose Phang Nga Bay with James Bond Island, the Phi Phi Islands and Maya Bay, Krabi's Railay cliffs and Chicken Island, Racha and Coral islands, and — dry season only — the Similan Islands. Any of these work as a single day out or can be strung together into a multi-day route, and every itinerary is customisable.
What's the best time of year to plan one of these routes?
November to April, the northeast-monsoon dry season, is when these islands and bays are at their best: calm seas, sunny skies, steady 5–20 knot winds and around 30 °C, peaking December–March. It's also the only window when the Similan and Surin Islands are open (roughly mid-November to mid-May), so build a Similan visit into a dry-season trip.
Can these itineraries still run during the green (monsoon) season, May to October?
Yes, though the route shifts. The southwest monsoon brings choppier open water, gusty winds and afternoon rain, so green-season itineraries stay within sheltered east-coast destinations such as Phang Nga Bay rather than crossing open sea. Rates are lower and the water is quieter, but the exposed Similan and Surin parks close mid-May to mid-October and some offshore days can be cancelled for weather.
